除了入门款ZenFone 5，华硕也预期推出高阶款ZenFone 5系列机种，其中可能包含搭载Snapdragon 845处理器规格。
华硕预计在MWC 2018开展期间揭晓ZenFone 5系列机种，而相关消息透露型号为ASUS_X00PD的Zenfone 5入门机种，硬件规格将分别采用18:9显示比例的全尺寸屏幕、背面指纹辨识器，同时主相机将采用类似iPhone X的直竖排列。

而处理器则预期采用Qualcomm Snapdragon 430规格，并且也支援4G LTE Cat.6规格联网通讯能力，而操作系统则采用Android 8.0。
除了入门款ZenFone 5，华硕也预期推出高阶款ZenFone 5系列机种，其中可能包含搭载Snapdragon 845处理器规格。同时就先前ZenFone系列机种通常涵盖入门、中阶与高阶规格，预期此次推出新机也会有多种版本。
此外，在华硕近期也同样强调终端连结运算与人工智能应用，可能也准备在ZenFone 5系列机种导入更多聪明功能。
